The church in recent times have been hit with scandals especially sex and various abuses across the world. Reverend Father Andrew Campbell, who has since 1970 practiced as a catholic priest has advised priest to keep in touch with God and never cease praying. He noted that he has stayed from scandals not by his might but acknowledging God and learning to at least, spend an hour every day praying.

In a television interview, Rev Father Andrew Campbell, revealed that he, at the earlier stages of his missionary work pledged never to be a scandal unto anyone. He hence made this one of his guiding principles. Doubling as the founder of the Lepers Aid committee established in 1993 to care for persons with leprosy, he called on society to support the less privileged.

Members of the body of Christ continue to express their unhappiness and concerns over sexual assaults calling on the leadership of the church to do all it can to address the issues and apply punitive sanctions where necessary.

Recently a member of the Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Dansoman, appealed to the Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra over the issue of sexual harassment. The body with special responsibility for investigating clerical abuse in Ghana, noted these complains usually requires various investigations conducted to establish the veracity of the claims.

Rev Father Andrew Campbell runs the leprosarium in Weija, Ho, Nkanchina and Kokofu and calls on the general public to continue to support his NGO as plans are underway to build New state of the art leprosarium across the country.
